First Mile Logistics refers to the transportation of goods from the point of origin to the first major transportation hub, such as a port, airport, or distribution center. This initial leg of the supply chain is critical in ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods, as any delays or disruptions can have a ripple effect on the entire supply chain. In this case: spare parts and project equipment for commercial marine ship owners, ship management companies and offshore operators.

Marinetrans is a 4PL (Fourth Party Logistics) provider that specializes in marine logistics and first mile delivery. We provide a range of services to shipowners, including the delivery of spare parts to ships in port and at sea. This is a complex and often time-critical task that requires specialized expertise and resources, incl. (since 2022) onboard drone deliveries.

Pick – Pack – Ship

One of the key ways that Marinetrans sets itself apart is by investing in state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure. Our network of warehouses and distribution centers located near major ports allows us to quickly and efficiently pick, pack and ship spare parts to ships in need – and take care of all the paperwork.

In addition, we partner with a fleet of vehicles and experienced drivers who are trained to handle the unique challenges of both first mile and last mile delivery. This can be quite practical, such as navigating narrow and congested streets, coordinating with customs and (air)port authorities and generally ensuring the safe and secure handling of the clients’ goods.

As to the first mile: from the moment a client places an order (which appears simultaneously in both the vendor’s and Marinetrans’ portal), our First Mile Team starts arranging the order’s transport from the supplier to one of the 19 strategically located warehouses of our sister company Best Global Logistics or, if needed, a 3PL partner in our network.
