When complexity meets our expertise

Module being lifted onto vessel

Our project team in Norway faced a unique challenge: transporting a massive module measuring 16m x 12m x 21m and weighing 253 tons to a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) in Dubai. We needed to act swiftly with tight deadlines, fluctuating schedules, and limited regional resources and assets. We quickly activated our strongest vendor network to develop the most effective solution.

Using multi-axle Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs), we moved the module from its ex-works position to the ship’s side, where it was lifted onto a Heavy Lift Vessel (HLV). To use the HLV, we needed to do a lot of engineering to ensure the model was in the right position and the deck was strengthened. This strategy, along with detailed planning, enabled us to meet the strict requirements and fulfill the project’s delivery timeline. The chartered vessel arrived at the shipyard on schedule to align with the floating crane’s maintenance schedule, which lifted the module to the FSRU.

Our proactive planning ensured a safe and timely delivery without disrupting the client’s operations. The seamless execution demonstrates our capability to address even the most complex logistical challenges.

With decades of expertise, our project logistics team has successfully managed hundreds of heavy lifts and charters for shipbuilding projects, including some of the most complex and large-scale operations. Looking for a trusted partner to handle your next project? Reach out to us today.
